GERA lights: put the home office in the right light
In the Corona period, home offices are part of everyday work for many employees. Thanks to digitization and networking, many tasks can be carried out in the home office or from the kitchen table.
This development will certainly continue even after the current time, which people spend more in their own four walls, because flexible working was a trend even before this special situation.
This also means that more attention should be paid to the design of the home office.
Ergonomics of workplace design
While great advances have been made in the office, at the official workplace, in terms of ergonomics and comfortable, health-promoting workplace design in recent decades, the … [READ MORE]
GERA lights: new products for 2020
The world is changing and with it the way people design their living space.
One of the most obvious developments is the increase in open floor plans.
The different functional zones of an apartment merge. Kitchen, living and dining room become one.
This opening also changes the kitchen architecture: wall units are disappearing, storage space, cooking and sink areas are increasingly being planned as islands.
Dump fans extracting downwards detach the extractor hood.
These changes in living space design also bring with them new requirements and possibilities for lighting: island experiences.
The island experience
If the hung furniture is painted during planning, the storage space becomes scarcer and with the wall cupboards space for … [READ MORE]
Successful interzum 2019 for GERA Leuchten
As the leading trade fair, interzum is of enormous significance for furniture suppliers and manufacturers. And also in 2019, it lived up to its reputation as the central event of the industry: About 74,000 visitors from 152 countries were counted. Participating in the trade fair has been a great success for GERA Leuchten as well: The lighting specialist from St. Gangloff from Thuringia only showed new products on its minimalistic stand.
“We were able to welcome a total of about 250 visitors at our stand,” said Hening Pölitz, owner and managing director of GERA Leuchten. True to their motto “Furnishing with light”, the new light box and light bridge, in particular, were the centre … [READ MORE]
Lighting as a piece of furniture
Minimalism, lighting as a room design element, clear contours – at interzum 2019, GERA Leuchten continues to stay true to its philosophy: “We will be showing several interesting new products in Cologne,” says Hening Pölitz, owner and CEO of GERA Leuchten. “They are further developments of existing lighting systems used in a way that makes them look completely new.”
The company’s trade show stand will once again be dedicated to “Lighting that’s also a piece of furniture”, an apt description of the one element shared by all GERA Leuchten products. “We furnish homes – either with lighting, or with lighting furniture,” says GERA Leuchten product designer Thomas Ritt, explaining the company’s approach. “Our … [READ MORE]

„GERA’s strength is generated through a clear identity, the
special and characteristic capacity to unite light and furniture.“
Hening Pölitz, Owner of GERA Leuchten
NEW: GERA light system 2P3
The success of the light system 2P3 lies in its variability. The horizontal profile is a bearing element in the double sense of the word. It is used as an under-unit or wall light; when used as a wall light, the top side acts as a shelf for utensils in the bathroom or kitchen. The GERA light shelf 2P3 can be obtained in various lengths and colours, and can be equipped with sockets and additional clip-on accessories.
In this way, it is possible to install an individually appropriate configuration in any … [READ MORE]
The way people design their homes is subject to an ongoing change process. Currently, the borders between the functions of the different rooms in our homes are becoming increasingly blurred. The concentration of people in densely populated urban areas calls for furniture and room designs that are flexible and use space efficiently. GERA Leuchten is responding to these developments with the new products the company will launch at the interzum 2017.
“Focusing on light” is the motto of the company’s trade show display this year, and more generally, its product philosophy: “GERA Leuchten focuses on the light and not on the lamp,” says GERA Leuchten product manager and designer Thomas Ritt. “Light needs a source. It must be capable … [READ MORE]
