An advantage with regard to elegance and ergonomics
As ever, AXen sinks from Blanco are one of the highlights of the kitchen industry. Since its première 15 years ago, the AXen concept, which is available in three materials (stainless steel, Silgranit and ceramic) and for all base cabinet sizes, has been consistently developed and designed to match the habits of contemporary users. Blanco now presents the third generation: with two Silgranit models in a fundamentally new look and some interesting changes for all the stainless steel AXen models.
The Blanco Axia III 6 S Silgranit sink looks more elegant than ever before. The new design is based on a clear and puristic design language that goes hand in hand with further enhanced functionality. Reduced corner and base radii produce a striking look and also have a positive effect on surface utilisation and capacity. Adjoining the drainer that is now even larger and has no grooves, is the spacious main bowl. The new bowl geometry allows full use to be made of its base area – and the same is true of the additional bowl. The decidedly narrow yet flat rim of the sink emphasises the modern overall appearance of the new Axia III. For the first time, the AXen concept has an XL model in a composite material for amateur chefs who prefer an extra-large bowl. The finishing touch on the Axia III versions is the innovative drain system Blanco InFino: with intuitive operation that requires only simple rotation. With its modern, flat design, InFino adds to the balanced look of the entire sink.
Accessories that add value
High-quality accessories are an integral part of the new AXen concept, exactly matching the different potential uses of the sink in a way that is typically Blanco, and now being even more variable. In keeping with the aesthetic overall concept of the new generation, Blanco has developed an innovative bridging chopping board for the two Axia III models – a real highlight. Designed in modern compound technology, it has a delightfully delicate elegance and a stylish wooden surface. With a cut-resistant ash veneer coating on both sides, it will prove to be a robust utensil in daily kitchen life. The new chopping board can move freely along the full length of the sink and is easy to use, thanks to its lightweight design and its small, subtle, sliding feet. Because it is at a comfortable height, the bridging chopping board can not only be used on the sink, but also on the worktop, for working cut vegetables directly into a colander placed there for the purpose, for example. As an alternative, the range provides a new and decorative all-white glass chopping board. Last but not least, the stainless steel multifunctional colander that can be hooked into the main bowl, moved, or also placed in the colander bowl, has been redesigned.
Even though the stainless steel models of the AXen concept have only recently been extensively redesigned, they too benefit from a few changes: all five versions, including the steamer edition, have been given the innovative, flush-integrated drain system Blanco InFino. Axis III 45 S-IF, Axis 5 S-IF and 6 S-IF are also fitted with a new, high-quality and elegant all-white glass chopping board.
