Hailo’s Pantry-Box wins Red Dot Award – its second accolade for quality design
Another honour has been conferred on the Pantry-Box from Hailo Built-In Technology: after being selected from among more than 5,000 entries for the iF DESIGN AWARD 2016 in January this year, the innovative storage system has now convinced the jury of the prestigious Red Dot Award as well.

Competitors from 57 nations had submitted a total of 5,214 products and innovations for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016. A panel of 41 independent experts from all over the world presented the sought-after quality label to entries that set themselves apart from the crowd with outstanding product design – and the Hailo Pantry-Box was among them.

“Besides their remarkable quality, the achievements of the Red Dot winners also demonstrate that design is an integral part of innovative product solutions,” says Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of the Red Dot Award. The Pantry-Box succeeds in combining the best of two worlds.

With its sturdy, wipe-clean plastic box, an attractive top quality wooden grid and a sliding lid made of toughened glass, the design is premium in every respect. At the same time, the Pantry-Box provides a practical and hygienic solution for storing food and represents a genuine product innovation.

“We’re delighted that our Pantry-Box has been honoured with the Red Dot Award as well,” says Martin Mies, head of Hailo Built-In Technology. “Once again, an independent authority has confirmed that, when it comes to innovativeness, design quality, functionality and sustainability, we have created a product that can withstand the most exacting scrutiny.”

About Hailo
Hailo has been demonstrating how to translate good ideas into cutting-edge products ever since it was founded in 1947. Time and time again, the manufacturer’s innovations have set new standards of quality and design – establishing the red dot as a strong trademark in the process.
Today the company markets its products in 80 countries all over the world. The key to its success: continuity and a clear focus on core competencies across all business divisions. Hailo’s Consumer Goods division offers a uniquely comprehensive range of floor-standing metal waste bins and is Europe’s market leader for household ladders and steps.
Two other divisions specialise in built-in technology for the kitchen and professional ladder and access equipment. And finally, a fourth business unit for commercial waste bin solutions was added to the company portfolio in late 2003: the Hailo Commercial division.
