The marine hinge B-1013 (13343) is used for the movable connection of hatches, flaps and covers, especially in shipbuilding and in areas at risk of corrosion.

 

Due to its design with two rotation axes, the hinge allows a large opening angle of up to 180°.

The special joint geometry ensures that the flap can move around the adjacent edge in a controlled manner when opened.

The robust SUS316 stainless steel offers very good corrosion resistance and is therefore particularly suitable for applications with humidity and saline environments.

The flat design with only a few protruding parts reduces annoying protrusions and also allows use on floor flaps.

The four countersunk holes allow for a stable bolting to the flap and frame, making the B-1013 a rugged solution for demanding flap and hatch applications.

Assembly:

• Fastening is done with 4 x M5 countersunk screws (not included)
• The hatch hinge B-1013 (13343) has four mounting holes with countersink
• First of all, the positions of the two-axis hinge on the flap and frame must be determined and the four mounting holes must be prepared according to the hole pattern
• Hole spacing is 2-13/64″ (56 mm) horizontally and 1-1/32″ (26 mm) vertically
• The hinge is then positioned so that the two articulated axes can move freely and the flap does not collide with the frame when opened
• The marine hinge B-1013 is then fastened with four M5 countersunk screws
• The screw length is to be selected according to the material thickness of the flap or frame
• Finally, the flap must be moved up to 180° over the entire opening area and checked for free, stress-free function
